General Resources
Editors Note: This online booklet is intended as a guide for prevention specialists and volunteers who work in diverse communities. It is not intended to describe everyone in any group through a "cookbook" approach. Rather, it represents the perspectives of gifted prevention leaders from a variety of cultures. Through a survey, interviews and focus groups, representatives from African American, Cambodian, Hmong, Latino and Native American communities answered a series of questions. These questions were about substance use particular to their groups and ways that outsiders can best work with these communities. Modifications in formatting, punctuation and style were used to keep the chapters as true to the voices of the persons who participated in the project as possible.
