The MIPH works to bridge public health research and practice in collaboration with many audiences. All of our work is based on the most current evidence of effectiveness available and our belief that public health programs and services must be culturally appropriate for the communities we serve. Our work is grounded in existing evidence, yet we consistently strive to offer innovative products and services to meet emerging needs and conditions.

As you review our services and our topic focus areas, please know that all of our efforts are customized to the audiences we serve and emphasize practical and useful solutions for our clients.

Provide and Promote Evidence-based Resources

Prevention science has made great progress in recent years.  Keeping up with emerging knowledge is the job of local prevention professionals.  With assistance from MIPH, professionals have been able to provide and promote evidence-based resources in their communities and keep up-to-date on the latest research findings.

Educational and Innovative Prevention Resources

School professionals need updated information, products, and services about health.  Chemical health counselors, social workers, counselors, teachers, school nurses and building administrators want to be able to provide this information and services to children and families in ways that are interesting, educational, and relevant.

Promote Healthy Lifestyles

We offer a variety of accessible and user-friendly tools related to parenting and family issues. Communication, promoting healthy lifestyles and decision-making, family management, and substance abuse are some of the issues families struggle with. MIPH provides information and connections to resources available to improve relationships, prevent and identify problems, and find help for loved ones.

Data and Technical Assistance

MIPH can assist those in search of information on public health topics or those conducting needs assessments.  Program planners can contact us for data, articles, literature reviews and more.

Federal, State and Local Levels

MIPH can help board members and elected officials (at the local, state, and federal level) stay up-to-date on current public health topics, whether it is for assessing, prioritizing, planning, or policy-making.

Non-profit, For-profit, Large and Small Agencies

The workplace can be an ideal environment for promoting healthy behavior by creating policies, programs and an environment that supports healthy choices for employees.

Clergy and trained Lay Leaders

MIPH has helped clergy and trained lay leaders provide spiritual direction in the area of alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention services. We recognize that faith-based environments have strong networks that build community, trust and support for involved participants, parents and their families.
